Why we give back

Misting Monsoon Diving makes its living below the surface — on the hulls, docks, and passes of Pinellas County. That’s also where a coastline’s trouble tends to settle, out of sight of a shoreline cleanup. So giving back here isn’t a campaign; it’s the same job, pointed at the water instead of a boat.

We show up for underwater cleanups, back the volunteers who do the shoreline half, and share what we find. This page is the home for all of it — and it grows every time we get back in the water.

We’ve joined the global conservation network that has spent 30+ years organizing divers around marine debris removal, habitat protection, and citizen science. It’s the natural home for the underwater half of our cleanup work.

Taking the Treasure Island cleanup below the waterline

On July 5, founder Jarrett Maryon joined the annual post-Fourth of July beach cleanup at Treasure Island and added the underwater component — the cans, plastic, and firework debris that reach the water and never make it into a trash bag. Tampa Bay 28 covered the day, with Maryon on camera on why the part you can’t see matters most.
