When you need eyes below

The questions a good inspection answers — before they cost you.

You can't fix, buy, or claim what you can't see. A documented dive turns guesswork below the waterline into a clear, shareable record.

i.

Before you buy

Don't inherit someone else's problem. A pre-purchase look at the hull, running gear, and anodes tells you what a survey on the hard can't.

ii.

For an insurance claim

Storm, grounding, or impact damage documented on video and stills — the kind of record adjusters want to see.

iii.

Chasing a symptom

New vibration, lost speed, or a temperature alarm often starts below the line. We find the cause on camera.

iv.

A condition baseline

A periodic record of your bottom and gear, so you can see change over time instead of guessing.

Sample dive footage — the kind of visual record you receive.

What you receive

More than a glance — a record you can keep.

An underwater video inspection is a methodical, diver-shot survey of everything below your waterline, performed in the water at your slip. We move the camera across the full hull, the running gear, the rudders and thru-hulls, and the zinc anodes — capturing the condition of each as we go.

You receive the footage and stills along with a short, plain-language condition report: what's in good shape, what's worth watching, and what needs attention. It's written to be understood by an owner, not just a yard — and it's yours to forward to a surveyor, a broker, or your insurer.

Because it's filmed, nothing rests on memory or trust. You see the same thing we see, and you keep the record.

Inspection FAQ

What owners ask before booking a look.

Straight answers on surveys, claims, and what you get.

What's the difference between an underwater inspection and a haul-out survey?
An in-water video inspection shows the hull and running gear exactly as they sit, in their working environment, without the cost and scheduling of a haul-out. A traditional survey on the hard has its place, but for condition checks, pre-purchase looks, and claims, a documented dive is faster, cheaper, and often more revealing.
Can I use the footage for a pre-purchase decision?
Yes. Many buyers use a video inspection before committing — or before paying for a full haul-out survey — to avoid inheriting a problem they can't see from the dock.
Will an insurance company accept the video?
We document with clear footage, stills, and notes designed to support a claim. Whether it's accepted is ultimately up to your insurer, but a dated visual record is far stronger than a verbal account.
Do you inspect the running gear and anodes too?
Always. Props, shafts, struts, rudders, thru-hulls, and zinc anodes are all part of the record — not just the hull.
How long does an inspection take?
Most take under an hour in the water, depending on boat size. The written report follows shortly after the dive.
Do I need to be there?
No. You're welcome at the dock, but the deliverable is the record — so you'll have everything whether or not you're present.
